This release focuses on empowering developers and operators with greater control, visibility, and ease of use. Built with real-world workflows in mind, this update brings meaningful enhancements across the board – from fine-tuned calibration to streamlined debugging and a refined user experience. 

 

What's New? 

Desk API (New & Free!) 

Desk API is a new REST interface to programmatically manage your robot – open brakes, activate FCI, clear safety violations, and more. Desk API is now activated on every FR3 system, and you can access it and its documentation directly from Desk's dropdown menu or via the link <Your Robot IP>/deskapi.

Take full control of your robot, your way. 

 

Automatic Torque Sensor Calibration

Automatically re-calibrate your robot’s torque sensors directly in Settings over the Franka UI (robot.franka.de/settings)! Just follow the step-by-step instructions, apply the values, and power cycle the Arm. 

 

Downloadable Log Files  

Troubleshooting just got easier!  

You can now download user-specific log files – including event and cyclic data – directly from the Settings tab.

  • Pose Saving – Fixed issue with saving multiple poses 
  • Gripper Width – Resolved incorrect max width after reboot 
  • Desk Execution – Fixed focus jumping issue 
  • Self-collision detection – Now works even under external torque control 
  • Software Updates – Improved error handling 
  • System Start & TD2 Self-Test – More reliable initialization 
  • SPoC Token – Fixed token loss after multiple page refreshes 
  • Watchman & Safety Report – Fixed incorrect number rounding 
  • Timeline Menu – Now closes properly on left/right click 
  • Inertia Handling – Consistent behavior with 0 mass + user notification if nonzero end effector inertia is ignored with 0 mass 
  • Learning Service – Fixed display during optimization process 
  • Homing Process – Prevented manual initialization of Franka Hand + ensured auto homing if brakes are opened after SMSS violation 
  • FCI Activation – Fixed errors with invalid safety settings and premature abortion
     
  • Nested Tasks – Fixed task space claiming during execution 
  • Mode Switching – Prevented switching from Execution to Programming when external enabling device is pressed 
  • Stop Button – Fixed availability during Franka Hand homing 
  • Lock Joint Command – Fixed issue with command waiting for running execution to stop

Deprecation Notice: Motion API v1 

Motion API v1 is officially deprecated and will be fully replaced by Motion API v2 in a future release. Make the switch to Motion API v2 for continued support and access to new features!
