Über uns, Franka Emika

Wir sind ein dynamisches Unternehmen, das Robotertechnologie für jedermann entwickelt. Durch neue Technologien für Roboterplattformen möchten wir die Leistung und Zugänglichkeit für alle verbessern, um eine der größten Herausforderungen der modernen Gesellschaft zu bewältigen: eine ganze Arbeitergeneration von mühsamen, zeitaufwändigen, monotonen und potenziell gefährlichen Arbeiten zu befreien. Wir sind ein junges, internationales Team – mehr als 100 Mitarbeiter aus 17 Ländern, die 13 Sprachen sprechen und gemeinsam an unserem Firmensitz in München arbeiten. Some current open positions

Tooling Engineer

Typical day-to-day duties include:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining new robot features and algorithms in a MATLAB®/Simulink® environment
  • Investigating new designs, operations and performance improvements of software components
  • Analyzing, evaluating and documenting algorithms and development workflows
  • Working on bridging the reality gap between simulated and real robots
  • Interacting with interdisciplinary teams
  • Hands-on robotic development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with at least 3 years of relevant working experience and in-depth knowledge in software engineering and experience as a developer
  • Experience writing highly optimized and efficient code in C/C++ and/or code generation from MATLAB®/Simulink®
  • Expertise in software development processes including version control (e.g. Git), build systems, testing, debugging, performance evaluation, continuous integration, deployment tool chain and agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM)
  • High degree of self-initiative / self-motivation as well as structured thinking
  • Excellent communication- and team-player skills. Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Fluent English skills with an excellent faculty of expression in word and writing
  • Experience with Linux

Robotics Development Engineer

Typical day-to-day duties include:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining new robot features and algorithms in a MATLAB®/Simulink® environment
  • Investigating new designs, operations and performance improvements of software components
  • Analyzing, evaluating and documenting algorithms and development workflows
  • Working on bridging the reality gap between simulated and real robots
  • Interacting with interdisciplinary teams
  • Hands-on robotic development

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • In-depth knowledge in software engineering and experience as a developer for at least 3+ years
  • Expertise in software development processes (version control, build systems, testing, debugging, performance evaluation, continuous integration, deployment tool chain) and agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM)
  • Experience in hands-on robotics research in one or more of the following areas: real-time motion generation, motion planning, impedance control
  • Experience writing highly optimized and efficient code in C/C++ and/or code generation from MATLAB®/Simulink®
  • Experience with real-time software
  • Basic knowledge of German desirable

Mechanical Engineer

Principal tasks of the job:

  • Design, construction, integrating and testing of prototypes
  • CAD design and simulation
  • Cooperating with partners in the scope of research projects
  • Supervision of working students

Essential skills:

  • Proficiency in mechanical design using Solidworks (or comparable SW)
  • Experience with robotic/electromechanical system design, drive technology and electronics
  • Hands-on experience with robotics
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge and experience working with component vendors and manufacturing sources
  • Knowledge on revolute and prismatic actuators, gears and bearing technology
  • Programming experience using MATLAB, C++
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently

Mechatronics Engineer

Principal tasks of the job:

  • Design, building and testing of embedded mechatronics
  • Design and implementation of realtime communication systems
  • Programming micro controllers (mostly in C)
  • Developing new actuator and sensor systems
  • Cooperating with partners in the scope of research projects
  • Supervision of working students

Essential skills:

  • Hands-on experience with power electronics, micro-controllers, sensors and actuators
  • Proficieny in designing electrical circuitry (peferably with Altium Designer)
  • Proficiency in soldering
  • Hands-on experience with robotics
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge and experience working with component vendors and manufacturing sources
  • Programming experience using MATLAB, C++
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently
